This research area addresses the consequences of digital transformation for regions and markets;the projects anchored here are intended to make an important contribution to answering the overarching research question via focussing on the economic effects of digital transformation on the macro level. In view of the fact that the consequences of digital transforamtion at the micro and macro level are closely related, an intensive exchange with the areas "Organisations and Individuals" and "Education and Skills" is given.
